During August / September 2004, a group of cyclists rode across Europe to Jerusalem. The aim of The Peace Cycle was to publicise the truth of the Israeli occupation and support a just settlement that will enable all the people of the area to live in peace. Dr Ali Dabbagh, an Ophthalmologist at Royal Oldham Hospital, was one of the riders in 2004. Ten Thousand pounds was raised for three charitiable causes through sponsorship and related activities. |

The Peace Cycle
is organised on a voluntary basis and all proceeds from the event will be donated
towards humanitarian aid in Palestine. The Peace Cycle is supported by The Friends
of Al-Aqsa, The Palestine Solidarity Campaign, The International Solidarity
Movement, The Muslim Association of Britain, The Holy Land Trust, The Annur
Youth Association (Bethlehem), Gush Shalom (the Israeli Peace Bloc),Al-Awda
Right of Return Coalition. The
Peace Cycle embraces all religions and beliefs.
